Bernard commenced his career in the hospitality industry in 1991 at the Savoy Group in London. He later moved to London based consulting firm HVS, serving 10 years, five years of which being at Director level, with management responsibility for Africa and for the Middle East. Bernard has advised clients in the hospitality and mixed-use sectors globally, providing services such as development feasibilities, investment advice, valuations, refinancing services and hotel and spa management contract selection and negotiations. After 10 years in real estate consulting, he spent 12 years in real estate asset management, with particular focus on hotels, leisure and residential operations for IFA Hotel & Resorts in Dubai, Aujan’s investment arm Rani Investments also in Dubai and Sun Ltd in Mauritius. Bernard has been asset and development managing investments located in Lebanon, Maldives, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, UAE, Zambia and Zimbabwe. He has also been exposed to hotel revenue management and most recently led the risk management function of Sun Ltd. as Chief Asset Management and Risk Officer. 

Bernard possesses an in-depth understanding of the whole value chain of mixed used developments, and is a seasoned professional with deep asset management and advisory knowledge and experience. He has strong emerging markets insight and business relationships with particular focus on Africa and the Indian Ocean markets.
